Although I met him only a couple of times, a.o. on the Hieros Gamos and Open Up festivals, he is a great inspiration to me. And to other people too, I'm pretty sure. I was lucky to have him as "hoeder" on the Hieros Gamos festival. The administration already told me so: "you lucky man, you got Arnout as 'hoeder'..." (Translation of 'hoeder' would be something as coach and guard in one). Before I met him (didn't know his name or anything), he already impressed me with his stunning looks and appearence and how he helped starting the festival by lighting the fire that burnt for four days. He lead sharing circles, gives firedancing workshops and takes care of the fire at sweatlodges. But most of all I admire how he lead the sharing circles, with the utmost respect, authenticity, honesty and dedication. Also, he's got humour, for instance when he was wearing a scottish kilt, 2 nice ladies asked what he was wearing underneath it. His answer was "shoes"...
